About
My name is April Maytorena
I am a first generation Mexican-American with an BA in Theatre (Design and Production) with a focus on costume and props technology.
My at Arizona State University taught me to love the creative process and as well the people that I meet along the way.
During the summer of 2022, I had the privilege to work as a dressing apprentice at The Santa Fe Opera. The experience has helped me grow into being a well rounded costumer.
Through the people I bonded at Santa Fe, led me to become a costume apprentice at Arizona Opera, where I would keep on growing for the next two years. From there, opportunities kept on arising from being dresser for Rihanna's Superbowl Halftime Show to stitching for Greenday.
This past summer, has led me to travel to the Midwest, where I was a Stitcher/Dresser for Des Moines Metro Opera. It was a wonderful experience from the operas performed to my fellow theatre folk.
All these experiences have expanded my horizons to learning new skills and to meet creative individuals who express their art through their work.
As a lover of the arts in all its form, I hope to keep on creating and growing with like minded individuals.
